But, it offers a huge advantage in magazine capacity and accessibility.

The subcompact 9mm has a significant edge in firepower over the .380, but the added size and weight can make it unwieldy to carry in certain situations. Some 9mm subcompacts can be difficult to shoot. Recognizing the limitations of both the .380 and the subcompact 9mm, gun manufacturers are looking to develop a gun that has the best of both worlds. This led them to produce the smaller .380 pistol.
In this article, we will look at the .380 compact to see if it is the right choice for concealed carry. We'll also test several .380 models to see if one stands out from the crowd.
.380 chambered models include the Walther PK380 and the Ruger LC380. They are about the same size as a subcompact 9mm, but fire the low power .380 ACP round common in pocket pistols. At first glance, these guns don't seem to make sense. If you can carry around a 9mm Ruger LC9, why would you want to carry a similarly sized Ruger LC380 that fires a low capacity .380 ACP cartridge?
My current choice in handgun carry is the 9mm S&W Shield. I carry mine on my hip in a Blade-Tech holster. I have had this gun for about twelve years now. While he's a proven player for me, something interesting happened during a recent shoot with my dad. My father, who is in his 70s, could not hold the slide of my Shield back to fire. This reflects my experience working at a gun shop here in Florida. When people walk into a store looking for a handgun, they will first be attracted to something like a Glock 19. But many retirees are difficult to work with. And they're skeptical about the long, stiff trigger in most defensive rotations. As a result, many of them end up with the Sig Sauer P238 because (a) it's small and beautiful, (b) it comes in a rainbow of colors, and (c) they can use all the controls on it much more easily than they do. go away. would be a Glock 19. However, this does not mean that the .380ACP is an ineffective defensive round. All the guns in our tests were easily able to place their shot in a 6-inch circle at 15 yards. This means that if a shooter can shoot, he can do it with any of these guns.
And, in general, all these guns require less physical effort than the compact 9mm. We tested the Glock 19 using the same parameters used for slide and pull tests to see how it would compare to these guns. With over 26 pounds of effort per slide and an average trigger pull of 6.75, the Glock 19 will require more physical strength to control the gun's basic controls than the Ruger LC380, Shield 380EZ or Walther PK380.

Ruger Lcp Review: Best Concealed Carry Pistol
By my count, there are no fewer than 16 specific models of .380 ACP pocket revolvers currently in production. And that doesn't include all the different colors and configurations and other variations of each model. Almost every major gun manufacturer has at least one .380 in their lineup. And the simple reason is that guns sell. They are insanely easy to carry, cheap, and over the last decade have risen to become some of the most popular concealed carry guns.
Over the past few weeks, I've spent a lot of time using .380 revolvers and today we're going to take a look at how some of these models compare. I don't often time the .380 on the market so this is limited to a selection of six among the most popular models. If you've been thinking about getting a .380, even if it's not what I cover, this should give you an idea of the different models available and what features to look for.
And I'm limiting this review to the blog's pocket-sized revolvers. The Glock 42 is the largest pistol in the lineup and pushes the limits of this size category.
